Patent Filing

Patent is a right given to the inventor for his product or process after he satisfies the test of novelty , non obviousness and industrial application. The patent rights are granted for period of 20 years .Incase the applicant wants to file patent in various countries in a cost effective manner he can take the PCT route.PCT is the Patent Cooperation Treaty, is a uniform "Patent filing Procedure" for international patents which is controlled by WIPO. Under this process the applicant does not have to file separate application in each country and repeated procedure of prior art searches is eliminated thus cuts costs, and saves money. Search is conducted by International searching authorities.
